Perry slams another big unbeaten ton as Axminster II march towards title.

Axminster II skipper Sean Perry hit a second successive century as he blasted 137 in a 51-run win over Upottery II.

Alan Ostler chipped in with 71 as Axminster closed on 281.

J Jackson (4-49) and Andy Pulman (3-37) claimed the bulk of the wickets for Upottery who replied with a competent 230.

Skipper Dan Prettejohn led the charge with a fine 72 and Bruce Jennings chipped in with 26.

James Whetlor (4-23) and S Rostron (3-32) claimed wickets for top of the table Axminster.

With three games to play the 2nd XI are 16 points clear of Seaton who sit second.

It’s Feniton at home on Saturday before a trip to Kentisbeare and then the season ends at home to Uplyme and Lyme Regis on August 31 after which the Cloakham Lawn club may just be celebrating a 2nd XI title and double promotion with the senior side also hopefully celebrating a return to the A Division!
