Feniton ended their season on a high note with an eight wicket win at Halberton and Sampford Peverell. The Feniton bowlers shared the wicket taking duties as the Mid Devon side were restricted to 177-7.
Skipper Mark Kingdon then crackled a superb 94, only out in the closing stages looking for the champagne shot that would have seen him register a deserved century! John Pyle helped in the run chase with a rapid-fire 50 and an eight wicket victory was wrapped up in just 20 overs!
Kingdon said: “It was similar to our season. We have finished showing just what we are capable of with a powerful show with both ball and the bat. Its disappointing that we have not quite been able to bag that promotion berth but we’ll all be back for another crack at it in 12 months time.”
Feniton II managed to do what few other side shave achieved this season, deny D Division east champions Exeter III an outright win as they claimed a winning draw when the pair met at Acland Park.
It was also a triumphant final day of the season for Feniton skipper Francis Pyle as he struck an unbeaten half century and then bagged a fivefer with the ball! Pyle hit 67 not out and Toby Devine chipped in with 56 as Feniton closed on 192-4.
Pyle then claimed all but two of the Exeter wickets with the reply closing on 191-7 and Pyle finishing with figures of 5-36.
