Readying for cricket season at Feniton

PUBLISHED: 15:46 25 November 2010

Feniton Cricket Club Youth Section is already planning for the 2011 season.

Teams at the Under-15, Under- 11, and Under-10 age groups have been entered in the East Devon Youth League for the coming summer.

The club is always on the lookout for organisers for these teams. These could be qualified or unqualified coaches, club members or parents, but will obviously be subject to satisfactory CRB checks. If anyone is interested please contact Martin Bird 078151689852 or Peter Avery (01392) 493016.

The club is particularly anxious to recruit players for the Under-15s team.

If there are any youngsters in the village or local area who would like to play, please contact Martin Bird on the above number. The club is also looking for parents or players to train as coaches.

There are already one or two volunteers but if anyone else is interested please contact Martin or Peter.

Prospective coaches do not necessarily have to play cricket at Feniton.

There will be a change this year in that practice night will be Thursday in an effort to avoiding clashing with football practice.

The cost of providing this amount of cricket for youngsters in the village is substantial.

If any local business or individual would like to sponsor the Youth Cricket please contact Martin or Peter.
