Seaton gained a point in what is now a two-team battle to avoid joining Cockington in the D Division next season.
Mark Bray (43), Richard Maudsley (36) and Chris Clode (27) all contributed to a Seaton total of 175.
Skipper Ben Morgan then claimed 4-55 and Ben Libby gave great support with 3-41 but the pair were unable to stop visiting Stoke Gabriel landing a two wicket win.
With three to play Seaton sit second from bottom, 16 points from safety with Ashburton the target, a side they face on the final day of the season at Seaton.
Next up is a trip to Bideford who are fourth bottom and 34 points clear of Morgan’s men, they follow that with a trip to fifth bottom Ivybridge before that potentially winner-stays-up last day meeting with Ashburton.
Seaton II suffered a major setback in their bid to gain promotion from the E Division East 2nd XI when they went down by 62 runs at Kilmington. Dave Turner top scored with 72 in the side’s 200 all out, that in reply to Kilmington IIs 262-7 in which skipper Ian Hunt bagged a brace of wickets.
