Uplyme and Lyme Regis claimed a third win of the D Division season with a five wicket home success over struggling Clyst St George.

Groundsman John Hunt’s week-long efforts produced a superb fast flat track which the visitors batted first on.

However, as good as the track was, the batsmen could not get the better of some exceptional home bowling.

Clyst St George’s openers were parted when Rhys Davies had Cooper caught by Alfie Bellworthy with the score on 38.

Skipper Batey dismissed his opposite number before Davies claimed three more wickets to rip the heart out of the visiting middle order!

Davies finished with four wickets for 47 runs and was given great support by Paddy Barraclough who shrugged off the previous weeks injury to bowl a full spell and take two wickets for 45 in his nine overs. Left arm pace merchant Nic Dinnison cleane dup the tail and Clyst closed on a well below par 157.

Although Uplyme lost Rob Thom early in their reply they moved on smoothly to 105 for four with good contributions from Jed Whittington (28) and Nic Dinnison (31). After losing of Steve Batey without scoring, normal service was resumed as the youngsters, Tyler Wellman (17) and Alfie Bellworthy (9no) partnered opener Mark Batey, who remained undefeated on a fine 53 to see his side home and to claim 22 valuable points.
