Uplyme and Lyme Regis saw their D Division promotion hopes take a blow when they were beaten at home by Seaton who claimed a 99-run victory.

The visitors batted first and lost their first wicket with just one run on the board only to recover to close on a commanding 261-5.

Ben Whittington, Paddy Barraclough, Rhys Davies and Steve Batey were the successful home bowlers, each taking a single wicket.

The reply was hit with wickets falling at regular intervals and just three home batsmen posted scores of double figures!

Alex Taylor top scored from the number five berth with a knock of 63 and Mark Batey hit 32 from the opening slot whilst Jed Whittington scored 24. The final wicket fell on 163 in the 35th over to consign the hosts to a heavy defeat.

There was a similar tale of woe for Uplyme and Lyme Regis II as they went down by 180 runs to Seaton II.

Alistair Rattenbury had quite a game!

He claimed three wickets for 39 from his nine overs and then came to the wicket as his sides number ten batsmen with the reply to the Seaton 279-4 a desperate 28-8, but he managed to hit 46 to see his side to a final total of 99 all out.
