Uplyme’s Whitchurch weather woe

PUBLISHED: 15:32 21 June 2012

Uplyme and Lyme Regis were denied the chance of a seventeenth straight success when they suffered their first weather hit game of the season.

They were well placed on 111-2 after 35 overs at Whitchurch with Steve Batey (51no) and Mark Batey (31no) looking set when the rain arrived to wash play out.

With not one of the E Division’s five matches played to a finish there was no damage done to the Uplyme title hopes.

On Saturday Ash Cook leads his side out at home to Tiverton and Bickleigh when they will try again to rack up that seventeenth successive win.
