Uplyme Under-15 travelled for their top-of-the-table clash with Dorchester without skipper Rhys Davies, on Corthinthian cup duty with the first eleven.
On winning the toss stand-in captain Wesley Holmes elected to bowl. His decision paid dividends as in his first over he claimed a wicket and fellow opener Felgate did similar.
Newcomer Parsons then hung onto a second fine catch to dismiss Blair off the bowling of Will Marshall.
The introduction of Daley Holmes to bowl on a dry dusty pitch then destroyed the Dorchester middle order!
Holmes claimed four wickets for 16 runs from his four allotted overs in a fine spell of off-spin bowling.
However, in a low scoring game vital runs were added by the home number nine bat and the innings closed on 67.
On a pitch with variable bounce the Uplyme reply was never going to be easy. However, too many players failed to apply themselves to the conditions and wickets fell at regular intervals.
Half the side were back in the pavilion with just 26 on the board.
Only Felgate showed any resistance with a defiant 14. The lower order batsmen gave it their best, and took the game to the final over where both Alex Jones and Lorcan Hankin fell without scoring and Uplyme closed three runs shy of the home total.
