Upottery II have genuine title chance with two to play.

Upottery have more reason than most to curse the weather for it has certainly hit their bid to claim one of the two E Division promotion berths.
They were forced to play a reduced over game at Honiton where the home side laboured to 151-9 with Dan Broom (3-46) and Matt Frost (2-17) amongst the wickets. Skipper Dave Woolacott then hit a half century as Upottery closed on 114-8.
If the senior side’s hopes are all but over then the promotion, and indeed title, prospects of Dan Prettejohn’s 2nd XI are very rosy indeed.
Nigel Wyatt claimed 4-19 and both the skipper and young Shane Kennard each bagged a brace of wickets as visiting Exeter Civil Service II were bowled out for 128, passed without loss of wicket as Nigel Wyatt hit an unbeaten 45.
The other not our batsman when the winning line was crossed was Bruce Inglis (14).
Prettejohn said: “We have worked hard to get ourselves into this position which offers a very chance of ending the season either promoted or going up as champions. We need to put maximum effort into the game at Kenn next Saturday and then hopefully go into the final day game at home to Seaton knowing exactly what we have to do to make it a glorious campaign.”
