Upottery began the day in second spot but they hit weather problems at Uplyme and Lyme Regis and ended the day sitting fourth and eleven points off the promotion places.

Upottery batted first and had proceeded to 63-3 from 17 overs when the rains arrived.

Clearly hoping to get back out and see if they could push their score up over a further five or ten overs, the visitors were dismayed to learn that, when then resumption came after a near three hour wait, their time was up and so the home side were left with a target of 64 to win, something they did for the loss of just for wickets.

Uplyme banked 15 points to Upottery’s two and all that means that Ashley Caddy’s side are now one of four teams separated by just eleven points tucked in behind leaders Filleigh in what looks to be one of the closest run-ins to the season’s end of any of the Francis Clark Devon League Divisions.
