Upottery went down by 130 runs to a Tiverton side that has now gone above them in the D Division East table.

Upottery replied with 133 all out, James Mitchum, not for the first time this season, top scoring with 19.

With just five games remaining the defeat ends any lingering hopes Upottery had of gate-crashing the promotion race. On Saturday Upottery host Honiton.

Upottery 2nds were beaten almost as heavily as the clubs senior eleven when they went down by 116 runs to 2nd XI C Division East runaway leaders Shobrooke Park II.

The Mid Devon side batted first and powered their way to 279-8.

Amidst the run compiling, Dan Kennard claimed the highly respectable figures of 4-35.

The Upottery reply was all done and dusted when the final wicket fell on 163. Retter (34), Drew (30) and Bath (30no), were the main run providers.

On Saturday Upottery 2nds, who sit third in the table, 11 points shy of second placed Exmouth III, travel to Uplyme and Lyme Regis 2nd XI.
