Weather strikes again to wash away Feniton promotion hopes

Feniton were another side who did everything possible to get their D Division game with Honiton on.
Both teams needed the points for very different reasons, Honiton to stay in the section and Feniton to keep alive their hopes of promotion.
When the game wad finally cancelled after lightning added itself to the mix of more summer rain, it left Honiton the happier with the six points as it meant no matter what happens on the final Saturday of this season they are safe from the drop.
Feniton’s promotion hopes rest on them having to bank all twenty points at Halberton and Sampford Peverell on Saturday and then hope of some strange results at both Plymouth Civil Service (where Filleigh are the visitors) and at Seaton (who entertain Whimple).
Skipper Mark Kingdon says: “It’s yet more frustration in a thoroughly frustrating summer for cricket. I know it’s the same for every team, but this particular campaign has been weather ruined more than most.”
