Whimple remain troubled at the foot of the D Division after they were well beaten at high flying Plymouth Civil Service and Roborough.

They did well with the ball as they restricted the home side, unbeaten since week two of the campaign, to just 173-9.

However, the batsmen found life very difficult after tea and the wickets fell at regular intervals the final one at 115.

To avoid the drop to the E Division, Whimple are going to have to muster seven more points from a home game with basement side Cockington and a last day trip to Seaton, than Countess Wear bank in their last two which see them host Plymouth Civil Service and Roborough and then go to Honiton.
