Whimple suffered relegation and will play next summer in the E Division after they lost their final game of the season at Seaton by 47 runs.
Phil Hope claimed 5-50 from a dozen fine overs as Seaton were restricted to 163-9.
Home skipper Ben Morgan (34) and Steven Pritchard (28) were the principle scorers for the Court Lane outfit who then bowled Whimple out for 116. nly Richard Brown with 34 made much progress as Morgan (3-20), Phil Collins (3-24) and Ben Copp (3-42) combined to great effect.
Whimple skipper Ben Silk said: “We will be back. We have not had a lot of luck this season and whilst I accept that the weather has hit us all hard the fact is we had two more cancellations that Countess Wear and one more than Honiton and both those sides finished just above us in the table.”
Seaton skipper Ben Morgan said: “We have had a really good season and I am sure it will stand us in good stead for next term. I am hoping to continue and am sure, as our younger players have another season under their belts, we’ll be even more of a threat to the top sides next summer.”
