Whimple made short work of their first Tolchards League action of the new season when they thumped visiting Culmstock by ten wickets in a D Division (East) game.

It was very much a case of former and current skippers taking the spotlight.

Former captain Ben Silk led the bowling honours with four wickets for 10 runs as the visitors were bundled out for just 75.

Current skipper Henry Gordon-Lennox then hit an unbeaten 49 as the his side reached victory without losing a wicket.

Match day three of the season takes Whimple to what looks like being a strong Tiverton side. The teams go into the game as two of four team son 26 points sitting behind early leaders Cullompton who have 28.
