Yarcombe must play the waiting game to see if they are to be promoted

Yarcombe's F Division promotion hopes rest with a game in South Devon this Saturday.
Yarcombe have completed their programme. Their final game fell like five others have this soggy season when they were forced to call off their East Devon derby with Chardstock.
For a while it seemed their promotion hopes had been sunk with news filtering through that play was likely at Newton St Cyres where promotion rivals Chelston surely only needed to play to bag the points against the win less Mid Devon side which would end the Yarcombe dream.
However, that game also subsequently fell to the rain and so Yarcombe will now be promoted if Chelston fail to become the first side this season to defeat Babbacombe on the final day of the season!
Yarcombe skipper James Mitchum says: “We have been beaten just the once this season and so not to go up would be a big blow. We have been harshly treated by the weather this season, worse than many other sides and, whilst I know that’s all part of cricket in this country, it does not make it any easier to take. That said we are so close. Our race is well and truly run and now we need the form book to run true on Saturday and Babbacombe to deny Chelston so we can celebrate!”
