Uplyme and Lyme Regis II made it four wins from five D Division East 2nd XI matches with a 36-run win at Upottery II.

Steve Howe (27not out) and opener Tyler Wellman (26) provided the best of the home batting contributions in a total of 164.

Henry Perry then claimed 3-29 and 10-year-old Daley Holmes took 3-23 as the visitors were bowled out for 128.

Uplyme skipper Wallace Blackmore said: “At tea I felt we were up against it as, on a superb batting track, our score looked well below par. However, we bowled and fielded superbly and were very deserving of another victory.”

Uplyme and Lyme Regis’s senior side were beaten by 19 runs at home to Shaldon Optimists.

Skipper Steve Batey claimed 3-36 as the visitors were bowled out for 218. That proved sufficient to win the game as Uplyme were then bundled out for 199 with only Alex Taylor (82) and Batey (51), making any impression.

On Saturday the two teams tackle Feniton with the senior sides meeting at Uplyme and the 2nds contesting the points at Acland Park.
