Seven AVRs took part in Chard Running Club’s Run in the Wild 10K on Sunday, writes Dave Mutter.
The course runs around the old Cricket St Thomas wild life park site, and is a hilly off-road route through pretty woodland paths and fields.
Martin ‘Myrtle’ Croad was first AVR home, closely followed in hot pursuit by Graham Newton.
Next home was Robin Britton, followed by Eleanor Wood who, despite stopping to assist a young runner who was taken ill, still managed to take the vet lady Over-55 trophy.
Then it was youngest runner of the day, Stephen Morbey followed by John Blackledge, who completed a fine run on his first outing following his recent injury.
Alan Morbey was next and finally Diane Newton who was very pleased to finish in 1.19. Thanks to Chard Running Club for a well organised and enjoyable run.
