Cullen wins Lyme Regis September stableford in style

In the Lyme Regis men’s September stableford Division 1 it was Neal Cullen who won in style with 43 points, writes Richard Jackman.

Second place went to Todd Larcombe just shaving it from Roger Turner on countback, both on 37 points.

Division 2 saw Neil Thomas win with 41 points from Richard Edghill, 39 points and Simon Leech third with 37 points.

The weather and golf both turned up trumps for the Ladies Invitation Day 4-ball better ball as Lyme’s lady captain Jenny Scott and partner Jan Warner-Booth (Windwhistle) scored a wonderful 47 points to take first place.

In second were Julie Duke and Shirley Horsburgh (East Devon) with 44, edging out Prue Russell and Rosemary Fife (Clevedon) on countback.

Jean Falconer and Sue Hyde (Honiton) won the best front nine with 25 points while 24 points won the best back nine for Rosie Jackman and Viv Gill (Bridport).

Nearest the pin for the visitors was Jo Lloyd-Davies (Tiverton), while Jenny Scott won it for Lyme and Sandra Barclay was the ‘Twos’ winner.
