Daniels delight as Honiton bowler wins place at Nationals in Leamington Spa

There was delight for Honiton bowler Kieran Daniels as he has won through to play in the Nationals at Leamington next month, writes Julie Grant.
In the junior (under-25) singles he beat Ryan Clements and Harry Goodwin in close games, 21-20 and 21-18 to join Zach Kidd as the two Devon players who will played in this years National championship.
Also nominated to play at Leamington is Scott Eveleigh from Honiton.
He will play in the young player tournament sponsored by Sutton Winson. Congratulations, to both young men. Sue Evans continues to help Devon ladies towards Leamington in the Johns Trophy as they beat Dorset by 53 shots on Saturday, but now have to overcome Somerset at Taunton next Saturday in the quarter-final in order to get to the finals.
Bowling in hot weather by the seaside is always enjoyable even when you lose! Honiton lost to Lyme Regis 66-73 with one winning rink; Di Hawkins, Fred Dart, Clive James and Brenda Harris (25 -16).
Meanwhile, the Honiton men’s Over-60s Triples League A team also went down, they lost 47-28 to Feniton.
