Honiton Sea Angling Club (HSAC) held a presentation evening at which they handed over cheques to local charities.

The club presented cheques to both Cancer Research and Hospiscare in Honiton.

A grand sum of £300 was handed over, which came from a sea fishing competition held earlier this year.

HSAC secretary Mike Spiller said: “Unfortunately, our club chairman Dennis Retter sadly passed away last year and we wanted to do some fundraising in his memory as he was such a wonderful chap. New chairman John Stanford joined Pam [Pam Retter, the widow of Dennis] for the presentation to representatives from the two charities.”

Dennis Retter was a huge influence on all things HSAC and he was also the England captain for field casting.
