On a bright autumn morning in October, 100 members of the Devon Lady Captains Golf Society Club (DLGSC) travelled to Honiton for their Autumn Meeting, writes John Pawley.

In all, some 23 Devon Golf Clubs were represented. The format was a greensome competition and the overall winners, with 43 points and winning the Silver Candlestick Trophies, were Elizabeth Ward and Anne Davies of Honiton Golf Club.

Lauren Kelly and Chris Cornish from Dainton Park finished second with 40 points and third, after countback with 35 points, were Mo Huggins and Lorna Rolfe of Ashbury.

The Captain of DLCGS, Lorette Logie of Bigbury Golf Club, presented the prizes. All participants agreed it had been a very happy and successful event played in a spirit of friendship.

Thanks were expressed to the hosting club and many visitors commented on the excellent condition of Honiton course.
