Dunkeswell Rovers went down 4-0 on their visit to Fresha League Division Six title favourites Ottery St Mary.

The Dunks suffered a midweek blow with the news that Ryan Pike may miss the rest of the season after having his appendix removed.

On the side open spaces afforded by the Washbrook Meadow home of the Otters the first half proved to be an even contest with Sid Berry and Jacob Cobb White proving a good match for the industrious home midfield. The interval arrived with the game still seeking its first goal.

All that changed after the break when the hosts had the advantage of the slop and the pressure eventually told with the opening goal. The home side grew in confidence once ahead and added three more to complete a season’s double over the Dunks.

Rovers have a busy weekend with Saturday’s league visit to Woodbury followed swiftly by a Sunday cup tie at Sidmouth III.
