Feniton retained its annual Foundation Trophy competition, played against six local clubs. This year’s winners for Feniton were Glynda Blackmore, Robin Cooke, Martyn Eveleigh and Sue Kury with a score of +26, writes Roger Smith.

The over-60s men’s triples A team were in action at home to the division three league leaders Starcross and lost by 27-36. The winning rink was Richard North, Alan Smith and Andrew Evans 16-13.

They returned to winning ways with a good result at Exonia, gaining seven points in winning by 40-32. The winning rink was Stan Nevill, Roger Smith and Dick Arundell 23-15.Six more points were gained by a victory in a very close match against Okehampton by 35-28. The winning rink was John Livings, Mike Chipperfield and Arthur Williams 18-11.

The B team returned to winning ways with a convincing win against Chagford by 41-27, securing all eight points. The winning rinks were Colin Cheesley, Frank Imms and Don Conbeer 18-10 and John Dibble, George Skinner and Graham Phillips 23-17.

However, they lost on both rinks away at Culm Vale. Feniton mixed team entertained a touring team from Oatlands Park in an enjoyable match. Feniton won by 98-83, but all the rinks were closely contested. The winning rinks were Frank Brooks, George Skinner, Alan Smith and Lyn Eveleigh 21-13, Frank Jones, Ted Goodenough, Sue Kury and Roger Smith 22-17, Lynda Dommett, Tony Young, Martyn Eveleigh and Tony Kury 20-8 and Judy Smith, Mike Chipperfield, Avril Coyne and Steve Dommett 15-13. A local derby against Dunkeswell yielded a very narrow victory by 66-63. The winning rinks were Norma Cox, Frank Jones and Tony Kury 20-11, Ted Goodenough, Eddie Cox and Sue Kury 16-15. Further success was enjoyed by an excellent win away against Exonia by 87-63. The winning rinks were Martyn Eveleigh, Glenys North, Les Ley and Alan Smith 27-9, Glynda Blackmore, Graham Phillips, Gill Smith and Tony Kury 27-16 and Eddie Cox, Stan Nevill, Avril Coyne and Richard North 18-14. The mixed team also enjoyed a good win against Culm Vale in an evening match by 104-65. The winning rinks were Frank Jones, Norma Cox, Andrew Evans and Ian Veitch 26-7, Glynda Blackmore, Tony Young, John Rolph and Sue Kury 22-10, Eddie Cox, George Skinner, Eileen Tuck and Steve Dommett 22-12 and Judy Smith, Graham Phillips, Ruby Veitch and Tony Kury 22-17.

The ladies played away at Seaton and won by 61-55. The winning rinks were Di Phillips, Joyce Lovell Lyn Eveleigh and Lynda Dommett 24-13 and Norma Cox, Glenys North, Avril Coyne and Judy Smith 21-18.
