Eaton and Dickinson bag win at Honiton in the latest Tuesday Mixed event

The outcome of the Sun Am Winter Leagues came down to a final round of ‘must win’ games, writes Andy Wagner.

Leading contenders for those first and second slots were paired against each other leaving trailing teams to sneak through the back door.

The final pairings going forward to the knock out stages are Richard Beard and Steve Charlton playing Steve Waller and Max Pipe, Mark Gillard and Rob Willey playing Stewart Slater and Pete Bonetta, Steve Boyer Thornton and Dave White playing Bob Cleal and Jim Wallis and John Marchant and Andy Wagner playing Julian Netherway and Derek Richards.

In the Tuesday Mixed, 34 members played for the Chivers Goblets. Drawn for partners, Greensome Stableford. Temporary greens were in play, but the scores were excellent.

This months winners with 42 points were Olwen Eaton playing with John Dickinson whilst in second place with 41points were Sue Ritchie and seniors vice-captain Bill Eaton.

Third were Linda McLaughlin and Allan Seager with 37 points and fourth place went to Catherine Doherty and Andy Sharland with 36 points. Jennifer and Richard Pyle were the organisers and lady captain Pam Greenaway presented the prizes.
