There was a big Seaton Town influence when the Fresha League team knocked the National League KO Cup holders, the Guernsey League, out of this year’s competition at Cullompton, on Saturday afternoon.

Town boss Josh Stunell was in the dugout overseeing the Fresha League sides performance whilst Ben Ede was the player who scored the only goal of the game to set the Fresha League side up with a 2nd Round tie away to the Southern Amateur League.

A delighted Stunell said: “I actually think the score line flattered the Guernsey league side. I know they, as holders, had lost a number of players from last years successful team, cherry-picked to play at a higher level this season, but holders they still were, and, to knock them out in our first ever competitive game together, was quite an achievement. What’s more, we deserved to win by a greater margin such was our overall control of the contest from first whistle to last. It was all very pleasing and you could certainly say that, on the day, everything went to plan.”

The next round against the Southern Amateur League is to be played away on, or before December 10.
