Only four friendly matches have been played during the past fortnight with two good wins achieved, writes David Harris.

Axminster beat Severalls at home (63-47) with a top rink of Les Monk, Jo Barnish, Ann Clayton, and Frank Lintott (22-11) with David Harris, Pam Hunter, Brian Clark, and Sheila Martin tying (22-22) and then had an excellent home win against Madeira (59-50) thanks mainly to the great efforts of Les Monk, Phil Bolwell, Jean Kesterton, and Sid Milburn (25-10).

The club lost at home to Ottery (41-64) despite a winning rink of Phil White, Pam Hunter, David Harris, and Frank Lintott (19-17) and a 16-16 tie for Les Monk, William Cook, Chris Todd, and Sheila Martin and then went on to lose at Taunton Deane (42-76) in a game best forgotten!

Unfortunately the Ladies' friendly game at Budleigh was called off but will be played later in the season.
