Horse riders can enjoy five new routes around the Blackdown Hills with a new, free guide.

Horse riders can enjoy five new routes around the Blackdown Hills with a new, free guide Local resident John Presgrave devised the series of routes, getting the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and Devon and Somerset Public Rights of Way teams on board to make the project a reality. Work has been done along the bridleways and green lanes to make sure they are at a high standard and a glossy folder has been produced containing guides to all five routes. The complete series is also available to download from the AONB's website. The routes cover the areas around Membury, All Saints, Dunkeswell, Luppitt, Stockland, Dalwood, Upottery and Chardstock.John said: "I'm absolutely delighted that this series is being launched to the public. "My idea was to come up with circular rides which were scenic and interesting, along good rideable routes. It's been a lot of work but I'm really pleased with the results and I hope people enjoy using the guides. " Copies of the guide can be ordered from the AONB office on (01823) 680681 or downloaded from www.blackdown-hills.net
