Cotley Hunt Pony Club members enjoyed a very successful day on at the Area 15 eventing qualifier, held at Pontispool near Taunton, where both teams and individuals achieved excellent results.
The Cotley members represented their pony club proudly in a high level of competition.
The novice challenge team, consisting of Kate Sopwith, Jessica Gundry, Sophie and Olivia Benger, won the competition which qualifies them for the national championships.
Jessica won on Jack The Lad with Sophie on McCoy coming fourth in the same section.
Olivia came third on Private Audience in section B and Kate was fifth on Spotty Harry.
This was a great result as there were 17 teams competing for the chance to qualify.
Layla Felgate, competing as an individual, just missed the placings but did well to finish on her dressage score with a double clear in the jumping phases on Winton Ragged Robin.
Tim Rogers, riding his homebred horse Corrieview Thomas, came second in his section in the intermediate competition.
Jessica Rogers was the only Cotley member to give the open class a shot, coming fourth on Rangeview Solo. She and Tim will be on their way to the national championships in Derbyshire to be held in the middle of August, whereas the novice challenge will be held in Cheshire at the end of August.
All members were very thankful to Sarah Clist, team manager, who organised the teams and individual entries and are hoping that she will enjoy coming to support everyone.
