Cotley Hunt Pony Club recently sent an eventing team to the National pony club championships held at Cholmondley Castle in Cheshire.

The team came fifth in the intermediate event, which, with only three members, was a very good result.

The team riders were: Layla Felgate on Ricas Moon Shadow, Olivia Benger on Farney River and Sophie Benger on Mr Monty.

Olivia came second and Sophie seventh individually. Olivia also represented Cotley in the dressage and show jumping finals at the championships. The team are now looking forward to doing the open class next year.

Cotley Pony Club also sent an eventing team to the National novice challenge competition held at Kelsall in Cheshire, hosted by the Cheshire North Pony Club.

The team riders were: Rosanna Hendley on Chilli Pepper, Georgina Ewell on Zoretto and Henrietta Ewell on Pickles. Georgina Ewell did extremely well to win her section and finish on her very good dressage score of 27.6. Hendley also competed in the show jumping competition as well.

Both teams would like to thank team manager Sarah Clist and the Cotley DC Mrs Ford.
