East Devon riders qualify for nationals

Sid and Otter Valley RC and Lambert’s Castle had to Northampton
Local riding club teams and individuals competed at the area 12 qualifier at Bicton Arena. The riders did very well and some have qualified for the National championships which will be held at Aston le Walls, Northampton on August 6-8.
The Junior Novice Class was won by Olivia Benger on Mr Monty which qualifies her for the championships at the beginning of August. She was representing the Sid and Otter Valley Riding Club. Billie Ann Warren on Flora Bay came second and Jessica Rogers on Solomans Seal came third - both representing the Lamberts Castle riding club.
The Sid and Otter Valley Riding Club won the junior intermediate team competition which also qualifies them for the championships. The team members were: Cameron Beer, Abigail Hepworth, Laura Shillam and Olivia Benger.
The Junior Intermediate class was won by Kate Sopwith on Wincey Jack who produced a lovely dressage and a double clear. This qualifies her for the national championships representing Lamberts Castle Riding Club.
Cameron Beer came third on Centyfield Czaia and Lucy Lee came sixth on Lady Griz, both representing the Sid & Otter VRC who also had a second in the team competition - riders being Lucy Lee, Alice Perrott and Lauren Reed.
Senior Novice Section B - All representing the SOVRC:
2, Mercedes Pemberton Finch – Hippityhoy; 5, Heidi Rose – Glam Rock.
Section C: 3, Cheryl Beer – Madam Butterfly; 7, Nicola Morrison – Tiger Lilli
The Senior Novice team came third representing SOVRC:
Cheryl Beer, Emily Gawler, Joanna Lee, Nicola Morrison.
Rebecca Holmes was second in the Senior Open on Reggie Del Boy representing Lamberts Castle RC and Beki Churchill was fourth on Mahout representing SOVRC.
SOVRC had a great result in the Restricted Novice - 1, Marian Lawrence – Texas Rose; 3, Vicki Carter – Beau; 5, John Cunningham – Farenheit.
