Exeter's final meeting of the year promises to be full of Christmas cheer

THERE'S festive fun and Christmas cheer to be had at Exeter Racecourse on Thursday, December 17 where there's a seven race card and fans of steeple chasing will be hoping a horse of the same calibre as Master Minded features at the meeting. The sensational dual winner of the Queen Mother Champion Chase made his British debut at the meeting in 2007 in the graduation chase although he galloped no further than the first open ditch when unseating his jockey Sam Thomas.

Racing begins at 12.50pm with a mares only novices' hurdle. Mares also take the limelight at 3.20pm with the European Breeders' Fund Thoroughbred Breeders' Association Mares Only Novices' Chase. The South West Racing Club sponsors a handicap hurdle run over two miles one furlong and a 2m3f handicap steeple chase. There's a beginners' chase, sponsored by The Jockey Club Catering and won last year by Kornati Kid and the Happy Christmas Amateur Riders' Handicap Hurdle concludes the seven race card at 3.50pm.

Book online and receive a 10% discount on ticket prices and take advantage of the free bus from Exeter St David's and Exeter Bus Station or call the hotline on 08445793005. Visit www.exeter-racecourse.co.uk for more information.
