ABBIE Hughes, who has just set up her own eventing yard near Luppitt, won one of the BE Intro classes at Nutwell Court Horse Trials at the weekend. She won on Wiscombe Bonita, a mare owned by Annie Brown of Ottery St Mary and bred by Tim Chichester of Southleigh. The coloured mare was broken in during last autumn and competed for the first time in eventing at Pontispool last weekend. At Nutwell the mare had a double clear and finished on her dressage score of 30.5.Annie said: "I could not be more delighted, she is a cracking little mare and, although I planned to sell her once she was competing, I feel she will make a super JRN horse so we may have to keep her a bit longer. It is a dream come true to win at her first affiliated event!"Pictured: Abbie Hughes on Wiscombe Bonita go clear showjumping at Pontispool.
