EXETER NEW YEAR'S DAY MEETING GOES AHEAD WITH ALL HURDLE CARDEXETER Racecourse will stage an all hurdle card followed by a bumper on its prestigious New Year's Day fixture. It has been forced to abandon its three chases due to frost in the ground, but the hurdles course remains raceable. Clerk of the course Barry Johnson said: "The track will be covered to keep out any further frosts so we have a good sporting chance of going ahead." After the deadline for declarations of runners has passed at 10.00am on Wednesday, three extra races will be created through divisions to form a seven-race card.The current going description on the hurdle course is good to soft, good in places. POINT TO POINT RESCHEDULED FOR THIS SUNDAYTHE rescheduled South Devon Hunts Club Point-to-Point, postponed from Sunday due to frost in the ground, will take place this Sunday, January 4 at Ideford Arch (off the A380 on the Chudleigh intersection). The first of six races is off at 11am.
