The Cotley Hunt Pony Club's eventing team won the national novice pony club championships.
The event was held on Sunday at Kelsall Hill Equestrian Centre.
The winning team consisted of Jessica Gundry, Kate Sopwith, Olivia and Sophie Benger.
Jessica did extremely well as she won her section whilst riding Jack The Lad with a score of 25.0.
Kate finished eighth on Spotty Harry and Sophie was 10th on McCoy in each of their sections.
Overall, there were 40 teams competing for the title from as far afield as Northern Ireland, Aberdeen and Cornwall.
The jumping phases were very influential as only 25 per cent of the competitors went double clear show-jumping and cross country.
Sophie did very well to achieve a double clear.
Jessica did well to win, despite having a pole down in the show-jumping, adding just four penalties to her brilliant dressage score of 21.0.
All team members produced a creditable clear round cross country especially as the course was fairly technical.
Second to Cotley were the Cattistock team, also from the South-West, who were only 0.6 penalties behind.
The team were extremely grateful to Sarah Clist, team manager, who worked really hard all weekend to make the event so successful.
