Westcountry photographer Fiona Crawford has produced a glossy coffee table book entitled Portrait of Westcountry Racing, just in time for it to make in on any racing enthusiasts Christmas list. She visits the courses at Exeter, Newton Abbot and Wincanton on race days and goes behind the scenes to snap stable lads and lasses, groundsmen, trainers, breeders and jockeys. She also visits Grand National winning trainer David Pipe's stable as well as that of up and coming trainer Colin Heard at his base near Boscastle in Cornwall. The book costs £14.99 from bookshops.
