Megan Trott, seven, won a bronze medal at the Junior Winter League GB showjumping finals at Cricklands in Wales on her pony Rhoda.

Megan, a pupil at Culmstock Primary School, qualified for the national finals by competing during the winter at Heazle Arena in the under-10s classes on her ponies Rhoda and Showman and achieving double clear rounds.

During the finals weekend Megan got some good placings in her classes against 64 other competitors and finished eighth on Showman and third on Rhoda.

Her dad Dan said: “The weather was pretty miserable on the Easter Monday of the finals but the atmosphere was great. Megan was one of the youngest riders to achieve a bronze in this competition and she was presented with her award by legendary showjumper David Broom.”

Megan has ridden since she was three years old and is looking forward to the summer championships of Great Britain at Cricklands in August.
