Honiton Under-11s powered to 55-10 win over Exmouth with Joe Evans scoring five tries.

Honiton made all the early pressing, but despite enjoying the lion’s share of possession they were restricted to just two first half tries scored by Josh Giles and Joe Evans. It was a different story after the break as the handling got sharper and, as a result of the renewed confidence, some superb team tries were scored. Some great off-loading and breakdown work from Felix Robinson, Osian Owen and Charlie Sheppard provided the platform for young Evans to power his way over four more times.

Skipper Edward Grimshaw also crossed the Exmouth whitewash. Despite the one-way traffic, the Cockles never gave up and their resilience was rewarded with two tries after which James Harris struck with a brace of tries to put a polished seal on the Honiton performance.

Both Joseph Hynam and Isaac Stanbury tackled well throughout, but the undoubted Player of the Match was five-try Joe Evans
