Two Exmouth Harriers, Lisa Hatchard and Martin Collins, both ran in a new local race 'The East Devon Round' a 62 mile (100km), hilly, 8,000 ft of climbing and challenging trail, ultra around East Devon, writes Kate Baker.

The race started at 6am on Saturday in Offwell near Honiton and ran through the following areas: Axminster - where Lisa was held up waiting for a train to pass on the level crossing for 10 minutes, Lyme Regis, through to Seaton via the technical section of coastal path, Colyton, Blackberry Camp, Sidbury, Gittisham before crossing the A30 to complete the last 30km on a smaller loop north of Honiton.

Lisa led the women from mile, 25 Seaton onwards, stretching her lead to over two hours, finishing in a time of 15 hours and two minutes crossing the line as first lady and 11th overall.

Martin Collins finished in just over 20 hours, successfully navigating the course into the night in plummeting temperatures.

Meanwhile, Tom Merson ran the Bristol 10k on the first weekend of May, bagging himself yet another podium finish. He took second place in a time of 29.52.
