There may be no titles or honours on the line, but Saturday's Devon Cricket League Premier Division meeting between Exmouth and Sidmouth at The Maer Ground will be crackling with tension.
Sidmouth are safe in mid-table, but Exmouth's troubled season has seen them slump to the bottom of the table - they lost by eight wickets at Bovey Tracey last weekend - and they are desperate for points to have a chance of staying up.
It will be painful, to say the least, if it's Sidmouth who help to push their equally illustrious rivals down.
Sidmouth's own game against Paignton fell victim to 'Covid' isolation issues last Saturday, but Exmouth were bowled out for 139 at Bovey and they must find some batting form - and quickly.
They stand on 9.31(pts ave), behind Hatherleigh (9.42), Cornwood (9.7) and Exeter (10.25), who still aren't quite out of danger themselves.
Last weekend was frustrating all-round for Sidmouth.
Their 2nd XI tried twice twice to strengthen their hold on the single C Division East promotion place, but were off each time against Exmouth 2nds on Saturday and Sunday.
They still hold a two-point (ave) advantage over Braunton and Clyst St George.
Second-placed Uplyme's top-of-the-table D East game against Alphington & Countess Wear was also cancelled, and they can't afford any slip-ups now away to Sampford Peverell.
Sidbury continued their march towards G Division promotion with a big win over Feniton at the Millfield.
Ed Chester hit 16 fours and four sixes in his 107, Ryan Trawford also scoring 54, in Sidbury's daunting 290, and Damien Ames and Simon Rowe then took three wickets apiece to bowl Feniton out for 121.
Sidbury (17.17ave) lead Shobrooke Park (16.92) ahead of another home game against Woodbury.
