Uplyme and Lyme Regis II were 15-run winners in a thrilling encounter with Kentisbeare II.
It was very much a family affair for the Uplyme with all three Holmes on duty making big contributions, particularly 13-year-old Daley Holmes who claimed 4-49 with his right arm spin to help bowl the visitors out for 196 in reply to the hosts offering of 211-7.
At 130-6 the home innings was in real trouble, but it was rescued by Wes Holmes (42) before Rodney Homes (35no) and skipper Wallace Blackmore (24no) helped guide the team to maximum batting points.
Earlier runs had come from Brad Rowe (24) and, Henry Perry (22).
Young Holmes then took centre stage. Skipper Blackmore said: βAt 130 with over half the side back in the hutch we were in bother, but we dug ourselves out of it to provide something for the bowlers to work with. Young Daley (Holmes) bowled superbly.β Uplyme and Lyme Regis 1st XI made it a day of double delight for the club as they landed a three wicket win in a low scoring affair at Honiton where they bowled the hosts out for 120.
