There were eighteen entrants in the AVR February virtual handicap 4K run, with the top six all breaking their personal best times.
Pam Goddard was the winner, finishing in a time of 26 minutes and 46 seconds, closely followed by Maxine Sweetman in second on 25 minutes 35 seconds; Alison Davis third in 19 minutes 56 seconds; Jon Day fourth in 16 minutes 55 seconds and Eleanor Wood fifth in 19 minutes 1 second.
After the first two races, Jon Day leads the standings with 41 points, followed by Eleanor Wood 39, Shirley Salter and Richard Matthews both on 35 and Maxine Sweetman fifth on 31 points.
Looking at the times, it would appear that Jon Day should have won, but this is a handicap and the winner is the runner who beats their mark by the most time, and Pam beat her mark by 1 minute 49 seconds, with Jon beating his by 43 seconds.
