Second placed Exmouth Juniors knew that they had to get something out of the game in order to maintain a serious title challenge over reigning league champions Seaton.Exmouth started well and had the majority of the possession during the early stages but could not find a way past the tight defensive unit of Vere, Chapple and Sweetland.The longer the half went on, the more frustrated Exmouth became as there was no way past the Greens' organised backline and Juniors seemed to run out of ideas. Seaton, having resisted early pressure, began to get hold of the game with wingers Morrison and Kana-ah constantly threatening. However, the opening goal came from a touch of 'magic' from the Greens' skipper Fellingham. He played a delightful one-two with Iain Rylance that resulted in Rylance crossing low for Miles Alphonse to score his 23rd of the season.Seaton knew they would have to weather an early second half Exmouth onslaught. As the visitors went for broke, the game opened up and Greens' midfield started controlling the game. Exmouth did have a couple of half chances that on another day could have found the net, but by and large Seaton put on a good defensive display. With 20 minutes remaining the in form Kana-ah crossed for Fellingham to score. This good team performance now leaves the Greens six points clear at the top of the EDYL.
