Young fencer Jessica Gundry, 14, has won the U14 Girls section in the first round of the National Premier Junior Foil Series.

Now Jessica, of Dalwood, near Axminster, has been invited to go to Poland for training with the Under 15 England squad.

Jessica, pictured here with her gold medal and prize of a Cavalier, trains four to five times a week, both at Wellington School where she is a pupil and after school with Wellington Swords.

Her recent win means Jessica is carrying on blazing a trail in the sport she loves, after an outstanding previous year when she twice won national fencing tournaments for her age group.
