Feniton B secure big win over Cullompton

The Feniton Men’s team lost in the quarter finals of the Foxlands Trophy to Sir Francis Drake Plymouth, losing on both rinks, writes Roger Smith

There was better news from the Ladies section thought as they defeated Seaton ladies in a return match at Feniton. The winning rink was Gill Smith, Norma Cox, Judy Smith and Lynda Dommett 35-12.

In a reciprocal match played on the same day, at Seaton, the men’s team drew with the hosts 81-81.

The winning rinks were John Dibble, Bob Crowe-Swords, Graham Phillips and Tony Kury (23-14) and Frank Jones, Tony Young, John Livings and Martyn Eveleigh (25-18).

The over-60s men’s triples teams bounced back after some recent indifferent performances. The A team secured all eight points against Sidmouth B winning by 44-27.

The winning rinks were Richard North, Alan Smith and Andrew Evans 23-10 and John Livings, Mike Chipperfield and Roger Smith 21-17.

The B team secured six points in narrowly defeating Cullompton by 33-32. The winning rink was Frank Brooks, Les Ley and Roger Clarke 19-17.

The mixed team travelled to Topsham and enjoyed a most pleasant afternoon losing a close match by 103-113.

The winning rinks were Frank Jones, Judy Smith, John Rolph and Lyn Eveleigh (24-8), John Dibble, Andy Hughes, Eileen Tuck and Martyn Eveleigh (17-13) and Di Phillips, Colin Cheesley, Les Ley and Richard North (23-22).
