The men’s team defeated Seaton in the Section Three semi-final of the Foxlands Competition by 35 shots to 28, writes Roger Smith.

The winning rink was C Maynard, J Skinner, R Clarke and A Smith, who won 20-10.They also defeated Sidmouth in the County Trophy Competition, winning by 100 shots to 59 with the winning rinks being; R Lovering, L Ley, R Binmore and K Lovering, 36-10; C Maynard, G Phillips, R Clarke and R Smith, 23-10 and R North, D Downs, J Skinner and I Veitch, 23-15.

In the Over-60s League, the B team maintained their winning ways, defeating Tiverton Bowling Club 39-31. The winning rink was C Maynard, L Ley and R Clarke, 22-13. However, the A team’s woes continue with another defeat away to Uffculme, going down 40-19 in Mid Devon.

The ladies Over-50s team had a good win defeating Topsham 33-24. The winning rinks were G Blackmore, D Phillips and R Veitch, 15-9 and V Murdoch, D Bowden and J Smith, 18-15.

The mixed team returned to form in the East of Exe League, defeating Chardstock 63-43. The winning rinks were C Maynard, A Morgan, J Smith and D Phillips, 22-5 and R Lovering, V Murdoch, L Ley and K Lovering, 17-9.

In their friendly matches, the mixed team narrowly defeated Dunkeswell 66-65. The winning rinks were G Skinner, S Kury and R North, 16-13 and J Wheatley, L Ley and D Phillips,15-13.They also defeated Tiverton Bowling Club 82-55. The winning rinks were A Murdoch, D Bowden and M Evans, 29-6, G Skinner; A Pritchard and J Livings, 22-14 and LCrook, V Murdoch and R North, 15-13. However, they lost to visitors Wellington by 89 shots to 115.The only winning rink was B Bowden, D Downs and S Kury, 34-12.
