Feniton bowlers enjoy mixed win over Ottery St Mary

The men’s Over-60s B team lost their final match of the season, losing 37-21 to Tiverton, writes Roger Smith.

The ladies lost their final Over-50s League match, beaten 35-25 by Heavitree.

However, the mixed team won their final East of Exe League, beaten 93-48 by Tiverton.

The winning rinks were the ones of J Q Navarro, R Lovering, R Veitch and I Veitch (32-01), T Cox, D Bowden, R Cooke and K Lovering (26-16) and V Murdoch, M Whitcombe, D Downs and G Philllips (20-13).

The mixed team enjoyed a victory over local rivals Ottery St Mary.

The friendly fixture ended 102-59 with the Feniton winning rinks being P Bright, D Downs, G Phillips and R Veitch (32-10), Bowden, J Skinner, M Whitcombe and I Veitch (28-16) and J Wheatley, A Pritchard, L Ley and A Smith (22-12).

Congratulations to Ruby Veitch, Jim Skinner and I Veitch who won their County Mixed Triples quarter-final 18-9 and will now compete in the semi-final and, hopefully, the final on Finals Day.
