Feniton ended their season on a high note with the mixed team winning away at Exonia by 85-79.
The winning rinks were D Sanders, R Lovering and A Kury 22-12. G Osborne, R Clarke and D Phillips 18-12 and D Bowden, A Smith and G Phillips 16-11.
In the final match of the season, they comfortably defeated local rivals Honiton by 94-73. The winning rinks were T Cox, A Morgan, John Holmes and Don Coyne 26-7, Garry Osborne, D Bowden, D Downs and C Jacob 25-8 and Jan Holmes, P Bright, A Smith and K Lovering 27-10.
The outstanding matches in the Club’s internal competitions were completed. In the Men’s Singles Final, Garry Osborne defeated Tony Kury by 21-10 and in the Ladies Singles Final, Vanessa Murdoch defeated Jan Holmes by 21-10.
The Closing Drive incorporated the President’s match and the Charity Match. The traditional ‘Spider’ competition was won by Ted Cox. On the green it was a close contest with two teams finishing on +8.The winners after a ‘count back’ were A Murdoch, R North and D Phillips and the runners up were John Holmes, J Livings and A. Smith.
