Feniton bowlers got a new outdoor season off to a good start last week.
The ladies led the way and they began with a 32-all draw in their opening match in the Ladies Over-50s League against visitors St Thomas.
The winning home rink was G Blackmore, D Phillips and R Veitch who won 29-14.
The mixed team also had an encouraging start to the season, defeating Dunkeswell by 87 shots to 38. The winning rinks were I Veitch, D Bowden and R North, (36-7), J Livings, A Morgan and R Veitch, (29-14), and G Blackmore, B Bwden and A Evans, (22-17).
They also narrowly defeated visitors Chardstock by 68 shots to 65. The only winning rink was F Jones, D Sanders, G North and A Smith, (30-5). Unfortunately, the team went down 109-90 in a home meeting with South Molton.
The winning rinks here were; B Bowden, R Cooke and M Sellick, (23-12), and J Livings,T Crawford and D Coyne, (19-18).
The final match of the week was an excellent 130-100 win over touring side Westlecot.
The winning Feniton rinks were; P Goodwin, R Lovering, J Smith and Ro Clarke, (25-9), D Downs, D Bowden, D Conbeer and A Kury, (24-11), T Cox, A Pritchard, Ru Clarke and P Spreadbury and G Phillips, B Bowden, T Crawford and D Coyne (23-17).
