Feniton bowlers raise good funds for the British Heart Foundation

Feniton bowlers held a fund-raising charity bowling event and raised £223.50 for the British Heart Foundation, writes Roger Smith.

In fine weather, the event was enjoyed by a good contingent of members and the winner of the 'spider' was Dave Sanders and the winning rink on the afternoon was Dave Sanders, Bill Bowden and Lindsey Howell.

In the men's Over-60s Triples League, Feniton Hawks secured a much needed win against fellow strugglers Seaton B by 44-39.

The winning rink was A Murdoch, A Smith and I Veitch, 25-19. The Eagles continued their good form with a 37-32 win against Marina B.

The winning rink was C Maynard, L Ley and R Clarke, 27-10. The Falcons were 37-24 victors over Hemyock B with the rink of C Tyler, G O'Hara and C Jacob, 24-9.

In the East of Exe competition the mixed team had an excellent win away at Wellington, winning on all rinks, by 74 -46.

The winning rinks were: P Eels, D Bowden, R Cooke and S Howell, 23-7,G Blackmore, A Murdoch, L Howell and I Veitch, 23-10, P Bright, C Tyler, R V itch and J Skinner, 20-17 and V Murdoch, R Lovering, R Binmore and K Lovering, 20-19.

Feniton won a friendly match at Bradninch 74-46, with rink wins for P Figg, P Bright and I Veitch, 26-8; R Sprigg, D Bowden and D Coyne, 18-7, and B Bowden. L Ley and J Smith, 17-14.
